Summary:
In the current era, there are few individuals advocating for privacy. We are a team of individuals united by a common purpose. Our goal is to contribute to Aztec, a leading initiative in the field of privacy.
Our main goal is to design the most user-friendly and practical explorer for Aztec users. This explorer will be compatible with the architecture of Aztec and the whole structure of Aztec will be visible on the explorer. When using this explorer, users will not be affected in any way by the architectural complexity of Aztec. We intend this project to be a major player in the entire explorer ecosystem.
Estimated Start and End Date:
We plan to start in August and finish by the end of November, which is the deadline we have been advised.
01/08/2024 - 30/11/2024

Team
We contribute to projects we believe in and develop on networks we believe in. Our team consists of four people. We have two other teammates: a designer and a full-stack developer. We were also rewarded with 10,000 STRK tokens for our contribution to Starknet.
- Jünger (Researcher): Four years of research on blockchain architectures. Currently working on cryptography, TEE, zk(E)VMs, and rollup architectures. Nowadays working for Taiko.
- Hwk (Full Stack Engineer): Senior engineer. He develops on crypto. He built projects such as AMM, aggregator and lending. Also he is doing research and development on private AMM on Aztec.
- Robodehri (Full Stack Engineer): Senior engineer. Master in distributed systems. Developing on crypto.
- Hkey (Full Stack Engineer): Open-source hunter. Researches and develops privacy technologies. Contributor to Namada, he built Block Explorer and Shielded Swap for Namada.
Overview of Idea
The main logic of building an explorer is to get the data processed in the node through the indexer and present it to the user in an easily readable way. Since everything will be based on public data in the initial phase, we do not anticipate any major engineering problems. The data the user should see in the explorer page under the headings of processes, addresses, and blocks are clearly stated in the proposal request page. Therefore, we will not list them again here. This is the working logic of a common explorer.
As a team, we want this project to be more than just an explorer. We see this project as the first stage of our involvement in the Aztec ecosystem. Apart from the required features, we aim to make all Aztec data available to users and developers, and to make this data programmable and shareable (similar to Dune).
Another plan is to develop a viewing tool where users can see their transaction history in detail. We’ll work on the mechanism when things are more mature.
We’re also planning to to build an interface (similar to Dojo.node) where Aztec node runners can see the status of their nodes. Users will be able to monitor the status (uptime, storage, etc.) of the nodes, provers, and proposers they are running (if they are permissionless in the Aztec network).
Grant Milestones and Roadmap:
Since we have enough people who can work in frontend and backend at the same time, milestones are usually planned to be completed in parallel.
August
- MVP without search functionality
- View blocks, transactions, addresses etc.
- Starting visual designs, research for UX
September
- Search functionality for indexer
- Sorting, filtering etc.
- Block and transaction data display
- Hashes, state effects, fees, status, encrypted logs, read/write etc.
October
- Reliability and infra related updates
- Contract data display
- Public&private code and bytecode, nullifier-viewing keys etc.
November
- Contract interaction display
- User-friendly UI for interaction
- Research & development for viewing key tool
- All hands on for mainnet launch
Future Plans After Full Launch
- Programmable data platform for Aztec(It’s also possible to create an additional revenue model.)
- API monetization & banner ads for financial sustainability
- Launch the viewing key tool
- Integrate viewing key tool with data platform for private analitycs
Note: All developments will be public and we will be openly informed about the current status every week.
Grant Amount & Rationale:
Requested amount is $45,000.
- We have 4+2 people and 4 months to work.
- $35,000 for 4 core devs for 4 months
- $5,000 for our other teammates; designer and frontend developer
- $5,000 for maintenance and sustainability after launch.
Note: The grant amount will be managed by multi-sig and monthly expenditures will be clearly tracked.
