Summary
Garden proposes integrating its intents-based Bitcoin bridge with Aztec to enable privacy-preserving cross-chain swaps. The integration will leverage Garden’s intents based trustless settlement architecture to provide seamless, secure, and scalable swaps between Bitcoin/EVM chains and assets on Aztec. This collaboration will enhance interoperability across Ethereum’s ecosystem while maintaining zero custody risk for users.
The project aims to deploy a functional demo on Aztec’s testnet by June 2025, showcasing cross-chain swaps and a streamlined user experience. Garden’s proven infrastructure, which has processed over $1.16 billion in swaps on the mainnet (live on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Berachain and Bitcoin), positions it as the ideal partner for this initiative.

About Us
Garden is the fastest Bitcoin bridge to EVM that enables EVM to EVM bridging as well, built using intents-based architecture with trustless settlements. Our contracts are audited by Trail of Bits, ensuring top-tier security.
The team comprises Web3 veterans with extensive expertise in interoperability:
-
Jaz Gulati, ex-product lead at Ren Protocol, scaled Ren from zero to $12 Billion in volume. Co-founder of Catalog, a cross-chain protocol backed by Amber Group, Multicoin Capital, and BlockTower Capital.
-
Susruth Nadimpalli, ex-technical lead at Ren Protcool and Rook (f.k.a. KeeperDAO), an MEV pioneer that bootstrapped a treasury of $100M within 6 months. Co-founder of Catalog.
Details
Garden will build a bridge to Aztec L2 enabling private swaps to Aztec assets, enabling Aztec to/fro EVM L1, L2s and Bitcoin movement. The integration will utilize Garden’s HTLCs for trustless cross-chain swaps.
We have created a testnet dApp to showcase cross-chain swap experience Garden enables while moving assets across Ethereum Sepolia, Base Sepolia, Arbitrum Sepolia, Citrea Testnet and Monad Testnet here: https://testnet.garden.finance/
Technical hurdles that needs to be overcome: since the execution environment are slightly different for Aztec, the technical team will need to spend time on understanding how to enable private/public swap execution and covering gas cost for users.
Grant Amount Requested
$50,000
Grant Budget Rationale
The requested budget will cover development costs associated with deploying HTLC contracts, integrating solvers with Aztec’s infrastructure, updating the front-end UI, and conducting security audits.

Please note: we are submitting this proposal to gauge interest, and a non-technical team member writing it; if there is interest from the Aztec team to enable native Bitcoin along with EVM L1&L2s cross-chain swaps, we would be interested in creating more in-depth proposal after taking a deep-dive at the tech stack.
